Bikaner. (Abhay India News). The 26th International Camel Festival will be held on January 12 and 13. In this regard, a preparatory meeting was organized in the Collectorate Auditorium on Wednesday. Additional District Collector A. H. Gauri said that the concerned departments should complete the preparations while working in full coordination in the event of camel festivals. During the festival special attention should be taken to promote local and international tourists through social media and main media.
Gauri said that special attention should be taken in the event that tourists do not have to face any kind of difficulties and local people behave politely with tourists. Efforts should be made to increase the participation of locals so that tourists can be introduced with local folk culture and they get to know about the rich culture of Marunagari. He said that arrangements should be made to maintain law and order during Shobayatra, Heritage Walk etc. Police force should be stationed at Dr Karni Singh Stadium, the main venue of the camel festival. Along with the possibility of large number of people reaching Dr. Karni Singh Stadium during the cultural evening, arrangements should be done to ensure strict vigilance and safety.
Tourists will Familiarise with the Heritage of Desert
Additional district collector (City) Shailendra Devra said that the festival will commence on 12th January with Shobhayatra in front of Junagadh. In Shobhayatra, performers from various localities of Rajasthan will participate. After this in Dr. Karni Singh Stadium competitions like Camel Dance, Trapping, Fur-Cutting and Mr. Bikaner, Miss Marvan etc. will be held. On the same day, orchestration of a grand cultural evening will be done by prominent folk artists of Rajasthan & country. On the second day of the festival, a heritage walk will be organized in the city from Rampuria Mansion till Bikaji’s Tekari.
In this, tourists will be orientated with the city’s architecture, art, culture, customs and recipes. Artists and decorated camels will also be involved in exhibiting their art in heritage walk. After this, in Dr. Karni Singh Stadium competitions like Rassakassi, Kabadi, Wrestling, Matka Daud, Safa bandh, Musical Chair will be held between Native & Non-Native tourists.
Russian Expo will commence from 6 January
It is been told that from 6 to 13 January the Discovering Russia 2019 exhibition will be organized at Lakshmi Niwas Palace. In this, the paintings created by the artists of Russia on the heritage of Russia will be displayed. Also, the competition of paintings made by the artists of Bikaner on the Heritage of Rajasthan will be conducted and the best painting of the competition will be displayed in Russia. In the meeting, officials of the concerned departments including Tourism, Municipal Development Trust, Municipal Corporation, Police, Animal Husbandry were present.
